Kyrogest Forte 20x190g Digestion Supplement for Bovine and Ovine (Ruminants)

Kyrogest Forte 20x190g Digestion Supplement for Bovine and Ovine (Ruminants)

Kyrogest Forte is indicated for normalising digestion in the rumen.

    COMPOSITION:

A 190g bag contains Sodium propionate 60g, Calcium propionate 40g, Calcium phosphate 50g, Sodium chloride 20g, Ginger 19.2g, Cobalt sulphate 74mg, Copper sulphate 233mg, Manganese sulphate 0.22mg, Ferrous sulphate 300mg, Zinc sulphate 12mg.

    INDICATIONS:

    • Kyrogest Forte is indicated for normalisation of fore-stomach digestion following primary and secondary digestive disturbances in the ruminant, as well as bovine ketosis. It also assists in the stimulation of normal ruminal activity following rumenotomy.
    • Kyrogest Forte  assists in normalisation of the acid-base equilibrium by lowering the pH and by increasing ruminal acidity and stimulating ruminal activity. Stimulation of ruminal activity usually results in a pick-up of feeding and rumination after a day in most uncomplicated cases.
    • Cases of indigestion, which have run a course of more than a few days, and animals suffering from prolonged anorexia can suffer an appreciable loss of microflora. Kyrogest Forte exerts a beneficial effect on the production of normal ruminal microflora which will aid cellulose digestion.
    • Hypocalcaemia and hypophosphataemia can occur in cattle due to a reduction in feed intake because of any illness that may have affected the appetite. Losses of bicarbonate, sodium, potassium and chloride ions cause imbalances in the acid-base balance … rational therapy should include the use of alkalinisers.*”

Redline Acaricidal Balls 5% for Wildlife

Redline Acaricidal Balls 5% for Wildlife

Afrivet Redline Acaricidal Balls contain flumethrin (similar to the active ingredient in Coopers Redline pour-on). Flumethrin kills ticks and sterilises female ticks, preventing them from laying eggs. Ticks on game cause physical damage, transmit disease such as heartwater and Theileriosis, and can weaken an animal, even leading to mortalities.

There are two strengths for the treatment of different sized animals: 5% and 10%. Flumethrin kills ticks by direct contact and sterilises female ticks. The oil-based carrier assists in preventing wash off and aids dispersion over the skin of the animal. The product contains a dye to help identify treated animals.

This product is intended to treat animals that have heavy tick infestation or tick damage and which cannot easily be treated by conventional applications e.g. dip, spray or pour-on. It is not recommended as a general, regular treatment.

Cani-Cal 5kg Calcium Supplement Powder for Dogs

Cani-Cal 5kg Calcium Supplement Powder for Dogs

CANI-CAL is a calcium supplement specifically formulated for dogs. It contains an optimal level of calcium and phosphorus, necessary for normal growth and bone development in dogs. Nowadays calcium supplementation is not considered to be essential, provided growing dogs receive adequate levels in their diets. This may not always be possible, and, under certain conditions, calcium supplementation can be of benefit to the dog.
CANI-CAL can be also used as a supplement in pregnant and lactating bitches to ensure that they are receiving enough calcium for gestation and milk production.

    COMPOSITION
5 grams (one level measure) of CANI-CAL contains:
    Vitamin A 2000 iu
    Vitamin D3    150 iu
    Iron 5 iu
    Vitamin E  20 mg
    Zinc   5 mg
    Calcium 350 mg
    Phosphorus 290 mg
    Calcium / Phosphorus ratio 1

The calcium / phosphorus ratio of CANI-CAL is 1,2 : 1, which is generally accepted as optimum for dogs.

A high dietary calcium content or a vegetable protein-based diet (e.g. dry dog foods all of which are largely soya) can dramatically increase the zinc requirements of the dog. In addition, recent studies in man suggest that the inclusion of soy protein in a diet also reduces the absorption of iron. Both of these essential nutrients (iron and zinc) are present in CANI-CAL in adequate quantities. Iron is present as ferrous fumarate which is well-absorbed and, at 5mg of zinc per 5g dose, CANI-CAL more than provides for the increased zinc needs of the dog.

The base of yeast and real cheese and liver ensures palatability making it most acceptable to dogs of all ages and types.

    DOSAGE:
CANI-CAL may be given to puppies and growing dogs and bitches during gestation and lactation, as well as dogs of any age and type.

Adult dogs: One to two 5g measures sprinkled or mixed in food.

Puppies and growing dogs: Half to one 5g measure per day, sprinkled on or mixed in food.

Cani-Vit 5kg Vitamin, Protein & Mineral Powder for Dogs

Cani-Vit 5kg Vitamin, Protein & Mineral Powder for Dogs

Cani-Vit is an unusually complete and comprehensive vitamin/mineral/protein supplement specifically formulated for dogs. Cani-Vit has an optimum ratio of calcium and phosphorus as well as other essential nutrients and minerals such as zinc, selenium and Vitamin K.

    COMPOSITION
5 grams (one level measure) of CANI-VIT contains:
    Vitamin A S00iu Magnesium 2mg
    Vitamin D3 s0iu Iron 5mg
    Vitamin E I Siu Copper 0.4mg
    Vitamin Bl 0.1mg Manganese 0.5mg
    Vitamin B2 0.25mg Zinc 10mg
    Vitamin B6 0.2mg Iodine 0.15mg
    Vitamin K 4mcg Selenium 10mcg
    Vitamin Bl2 3mcg Sodium chloride 25mg
    Calcium pantothenate 1.5mg Calcium 300mg
    Biotin 0.15mg Phosphorus 300mg
    Nicotinamide 3mg Protein 1.5mg
    Folic Acid 25mcg Ca/P ratio 1:1
    Choline bitrate 50mg

Commercial dog foods may not always cater for every dog’s nutritional needs. Cani-Vit was formulated with this principle in mind. It contains vitamins and minerals present at levels recommended by leading authorities.

Vitamin E is present at a high level ( I Siu per Sg dose). Selenium is an essential nutrient. It has been reported to protect against lead, cadmium and mercury poisoning. Selenium deficiency in dogs can lead to-degeneration of skeletal and cardiac muscle. Other effects of deficiency include reproductive disorders and oedema.

Few pet nutritional supplements contain selenium; in Cani-Vit it is present at the generally recommended level of  IO micrograms per  Sg dose.

High dietary calcium content or a vegetable protein-based diet (e.g. dry dog foods which are largely soya) can dramatically increase the zinc requirement of the dog. A study’ reported signs of zinc deficiency in dogs receiving cereal-based dry diets which contained zinc levels that were actually above the NRC minimum requirement (due to a reduction in bioavailability of the zinc because of the presence of phytic acid in the food). The link between zinc and skin and coat condition makes this trace element particularly crucial for the animal. Zinc is relatively non-toxic and at I 0mg per Sg dose Cani-Vit contains more zinc than most other pet nutritional supplements.

The Calcium/Phosphorus ratio of Cani-Vit at I: I is in the generally accepted optimum range for dogs and the calcium is easily assimilated.

Cani-Vit also contains a large amount (30%) of high-grade protein and its base of real liver and real cheese enhances palatabili ty.

Redline Acaricidal Balls 10% for Wildlife

Redline Acaricidal Balls 10% for Wildlife

    CATTLE

    Ticks, Flies and Lice:

    Dose: 1 mℓ/10 kg.

    • Apply along the backline, from the shoulder to the root of the tail using a measuring dispenser.
    • In case of heavy brown ear or blue tick challenge, apply Delete® All from the base of the skull to the root of the tail.

    • Treat at regular intervals according to tick challenge.

    Bont-Legged and Red-Legged Ticks:

    • The dosage should be divided into 3 equal parts and applied to the axillae, groin and anogenital regions. Treat sheep at regular intervals of approximately 3 to 4 weeks or as necessary, according to tick challenge.
    • For crippled sheep apply 1 mℓ to the affected hoof/fetlock.

Avotan Pour-On 5L for Cattle & Dairy Animals

Avotan Pour-On 5L for Cattle & Dairy Animals

    INDICATIONS

Ready to use pour-on for the control of roundworms and blue ticks in cattle.

This product is primarily indicated for dairy animals. This product is not ideal to use in cases of heavy tick burdens or during peak tick-seasons.

    COMPOSITION

    Contains: Abamectin 5 mg/mℓ.

    PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Please note that this product acts systemically after application along the top line of the animal. The active ingredient is absorbed through the skin and in order for it to control ticks, the ticks need to bite and take a blood meal from an animal treated with abamectin. For this reason the product is designed to control blue tick numbers and not to prevent tick-borne diseases. When the tick population has been controlled through regular/strategic application of this product, the risk of tick-borne diseases may significantly decrease.
